My Daddy's Dynasty
{5 Ways to Think Like the Princess that You Are}

In the 2011 chick flick, Monte Carlo, an ordinary American girl named Grace is given the opportunity to slip into the stilettos of a wealthy European heiress. When Grace mistakenly enters the world of Cordelia (your typical, snooty rich girl character) and steals her identity (by mistake!), her life is never the same. She has a shocking encounter with the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and learns so many important lessons along the way.

Sometimes, I wish that every girl could have a similar experience like Grace did in this movie.

Why?

Because we simply haven't a clue what it means to be an heiress of the Kingdom of Heaven.

I'm not just talking about getting dressed up in a gorgeous ball gown, wearing expensive clothes and running around town with European boys, because we all know that is not what being God's princess is all about!

But I want you to ask yourself a few questions. What if you were an heiress of the wealthiest man on earth? What if your family ran a whole dynasty, and there was truly no limit to what you could do or who you could be? In what ways would you live and think differently? Perhaps you wouldn't worry quite so much. Perhaps you would dream a little bit bigger. Perhaps you would live totally free and limitless, allowing your heart to soar and your dreams to take flight!

Sister, you don't have to imagine with wishful thinking that these things were true. Royalty is your reality. Your Daddy owns the most spectacular dynasty in the history of man-kind! He rules and reigns over the entire Kingdom of Heaven! And guess what? You are a co-heir with your big brother, and faithful lover, Christ!

It is time that we learn what it means to be an heiress. What are the promises that we will inherit? What are our royal rights? What are our Kingdom duties?
We must dive into the Word of God, and ask the Holy Spirit to be teaching us these things every day! As His daughters, we are always in training, and it's so vital that we show up for our princess lessons!

"but you are a chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness
& into his MARVELOUS light."
-1 Peter 2:9

What is a royal priesthood? What does a holy nation look like? We are called to be a counter culture.

Which means, we cannot look like the world around us. But God's Kingdom isn't about appearances, which means that the very foundation of who we are has to be absolutely renewed and transformed by Jesus Christ. We must be pure and holy. A people who shine from the inside out. Thinking, dreaming, speaking, and acting so very differently than this world.

The Kingdom of God must emulate from our core!

the princess mindset...

As God's royal daughters and heiress to His magnificent Kingdom dynasty, here are 5 ways that we can start thinking from our royal identity in Christ!

1. Know How Treasured You Are
"They will sparkle in his land like jewels in His crown. How beautiful and attractive they are!" {Zechariah 9:16}

You are the greatest treasure of God's heart. You are the pride of his heart, His joy, and all His delight! He sees you as lovely, blameless, and pure before His throne. You are sparkling, dressed in robes of righteousness, with a crown of splendor on your head, and a powerful purpose to accomplish on the earth! You have everything you need to accomplish your destiny - Your Daddy is the King of the Universe!

2. Trust The Master Planner
Princesses do not need to be in control. When their Father is King, they know that He makes all the plans, and He is control of the final outcome! Worrying is utterly pointless for a princess.

"Your eyes saw my unformed body, all of the days ordained for me were written in Your book, even before one of them came to be!" Psalm 139:16

I like to think about the book that God has written about my life. He has every chapter planned out. He knows what trials I will go through, what enemies I will fight, and how I will come out victorious! He knows my future, the places I will travel, the people I will minister to, who I will marry, and the family I will someday raise. He has everything planned out for you, sister! So stop worrying. He knows every detail, and I can promise that if He has written your life story, it is going to be GOOD. He is an amazing Author. Give Him full control, handing Him the pen of your life. He can write a much, much better story than you can!

3. Be Willing To Wait
Since your Father is King, your whole life is going to look very different from those who have not been adopted into this royal family. One area of your life that will probably look totally crazy to those who don't know Jesus, will be your love life!

If you truly trust the Man With the Plan, you'll be able to trust Him to write out your love story. Princesses don't need to run around chasing guys, desperately hoping to get someone's attention and capture their heart. Princesses have high standards, and are willing to wait for what they deserve. They know that they are treasured, so why would they ever settle for less than God's absolute best? Sis, don't settle! Keep your heart fixed on the King, and trust Him to bring your future man.

Singleness ins't a sickness, it's a season. Embrace it!

4. Guard Your Heart - And Your Body!
Modesty is a powerful weapon in the hand of a princess. When you dress to express what is truly happening in your heart, you can send a strong message of purity, love, gentleness, and kindness without saying a word.  When your clothing and behavior represent who you are on the inside, it causes others to stop and wonder, "What is different about this girl?"

When you know your great value, and the high price that Jesus poured out on the cross for you, it isn't a hard thing to dress according to Kingdom standards. You want to represent your Father and His Kingdom well, so putting those short shorts back on the rack isn't such a big deal!

You know that you are not cheap or common, and even though the world tells us that our bodies are glorified and celebrated when they are uncovered - God says just the opposite! He knows how truly precious we are, and there is so much more glory in saving those things for marriage, which is what God originally intended! Dressing modestly is a quiet way to proclaim who you are as Daughter of the Most High, in the midst of a crooked and dark generation.

4. Love Looks Like Something
What does love look like? Texting a friend a word of encouragement. Standing up for the kid who is always bullied. Being a friend to the unlovable. Praying for someone who is hurting. Feeding the hungry. Caring for orphans. Sharing the Gospel.  Sacrificing a trip to Starbucks and donating the money to build an orphanage for girls in India.
D
oing the dishes without being asked. Babysitting for a stressed out Mother who deserves a night off.
The possibilities and opportunities to love are totally endless. What does love look like? It looks like something. It looks like action. It looks like sacrifice. It looks like Jesus.

5. Care About Your Daddy's Dynasty!
Jesus said that He was always about His Father's business.

"My food is to do the will of my Father." John 4:34

Jesus was all about fishing for men! Capturing hearts with His love. Delivering souls. Setting people free! We have the same job description that Jesus did! We are part of the family "business." We should be passionate about spreading the love of Christ, expanding the Kingdom, and spreading His dynasty all over the earth!

We cannot afford to be caught up in the petty, temporal, vain distractions of this world. When we're obsessing over boys, our mirrors, shopping, the newest latest movies, trashy music, and the juiciest celebrity gossip...how are we expanding the Kingdom? When our hearts are caught up in the things of this world, how will we ever know the heartbeat of our Father?

We must passionately seek Him, running after God, asking for His heart! We want to know His dreams for this world. Ask Him what His glorious purpose is for your life! What has He uniquely and specifically created you to do? Who are the people He wants you to reach? Who are you supposed to be ministering to in this season, and are you being faithful in it?
What does He have for your future? Have you talked with Him about your dreams? Are you preparing for it? Is He equipping you for the days ahead?

Love, kindness, compassion, modesty, purity, boldness, gentleness, patience and persistence...are these qualities abounding and multiplying in your life? Are you bearing fruit for His glory? Are you clinging to the vine of Jesus Christ? Are you abiding in His love? Apart from Him, you can do nothing. But with Him you can do ALL things through Him who gives you strength, and nothing shall be impossible for those who believe!

Princess, you have so much going for you. So much that you've been given. So much that you have to give. Embrace your calling and destiny, and rejoice in the fact that you are His precious princess. You are a co-heir with Christ. You are part of your Daddy's Dynasty!
