Those who know me best, know that I don't wear a lot of makeup. I love a more natural, organic look, and it's only been in my late teens and early twenties that I started experimenting with different makeup brands.

I have several reasons as to why I didn't dabble with makeup as a young teen, but I had several personal convictions about the topic. One of the reasons I was a little "late to the makeup game" had to do with the fact that I struggled to find non-toxic, ethical, makeup products and brands.

I guess you could say I had a "minimal, mineral, mindset" when it comes to looking for what I'm going to put on my face.

I had a mineral-based foundation that I loved for several years, but when their company went out of business, I kinda gave up and went barefaced for awhile. 

This was all fine and good, until I was confronted with an upcoming occasion...my best friends wedding! 

Being in a wedding party is always exciting. But it also means, you can't show up to the regal event with a face full of stress-induced breakouts, am I right? 

Needless to say, I started my search for an ethical, non-toxic makeup line I could begin experimenting with before the big day!

Foundation can be expensive. Especially if it's more non-toxic, mineral-based. So if you're going to invest in something like makeup, you want to make sure it's the right product. 

During my great makeup search, I asked my amazing friend Victoria Lynn (check out her blog here!) what she uses for foundation. Because, let's face it, she's always so stinkin' adorable! She perfectly captures that natural, organic, healthy-glow that I'm going for. 

She recommended Bare Minerals. I had looked at some of their products before, but had yet to take the plunge and purchase anything. 

I was a little hesitant to spend $38 on a foundation...until I found out, I could hack the system, and get it for FREE. 

That's right folks, free makeup. 

I was SO excited when I realized these three simple steps, would get me free makeup!

Rakuten is a free app that gives small percentages of cash back at participating stores. They have a MASSIVE library of brands, stores, and websites that have partnered with them. Including some of our faves like Macy's, Forever 21, Free People, Amazon...the list goes on and on! 

Sign up is simple, and once you have the app (or you can use the desktop version) you can apply coupons and get cash back every-time you shop. Pretty cool, huh?

But what's really cool, is if you invite a friend to join as well and spends $25 at any of those stores, you get $25 as well! (Plus, your friend gets $10, which is pretty sweet!) 

Soooo, as you can imagine, this is what I did to help pay for my Bare Mineral's makeup, signed up for Rakuten, texted a few friends, and got $25 to put toward my purchase!

After signing up, I went to Bare Minerals website, and Rakuten notifed me of an instant discount + cash back to enjoy in the future.

I added the deal to my cart, then got another unexpected deal from Bare Minerals by texting a few more friends...$10.00's off my purchase!
